Research Questionnaire “Exploring stakeholders’ perceptions of peer support for adults with chronic pain”

01/06/2022

Have your voice heard about peer support!

At the Discovery Zone we welcome researchers at Robert Gordon University who are looking at the importance of peer support and how it should be best designed in the future. To this end they are looking for input from people who live with pain and also health care professionals or others who have experience of treating chronic pain AND/OR delivering peer support interventions.

The study is called “Exploring stakeholders’ perceptions of peer support for adults with chronic pain”.

The research involves a short questionnaire taken online and they’d be very grateful if you could spare 10 minutes to complete it.

If you have any questions please e-mail the Robert Gordon University team on r.arnott@rgu.ac.uk (and if you want an accessible format)

What is Peer Support?

Peer support links together people living with a chronic condition so that they can share knowledge and experiences.

This type of support can be provided by phone calls, text messaging, group meetings, home visits, going for walks together, and even grocery shopping. It complements and enhances other health care services by creating the emotional, social and practical assistance necessary for managing the condition and staying healthy.*

(Footsteps Festival would suggest that on-line peer support is important as well!)
