The Ten Footsteps Programme

18/02/2021

Applications to the current programme are now closed. However we’ll be running it again soon so if you’re interested in joining the next series, get in touch…

Are you enduring life or enjoying life? Is pain driving your life, when you want to be in control?

The Ten Footsteps programme has a proven track record of helping people live more confidently with pain. Now, as part of Footsteps Festival 2021, it’s going online – free – for anyone who feels that they would benefit and would like to discover more ways to enjoy life more despite pain.

If you want to live better with pain, or you’re caring for someone wrestling with pain, do join the group for this interactive Zoom course. The sessions will be about working together using skills and resources from the Ten Footsteps interactive website, with live guidance and support offered by an experienced team of people who live with pain together with experts in pain management.

What will the programme include?

The course presenters will introduce you to a wide variety of different ideas and skills. You will be able to select those that you’d most like to develop in your life.

Sessions will include pacing and stretch breaks, and will provide online resources that you can review again after the sessions.

We ask that you commit to coming to all of the sessions where possible, or to catch up with the online materials for any sessions that you miss.

Who is running the sessions?

The Ten Footsteps Programme will be guided by a team with lots of experience in persistent pain. Jenny and Mark both live with pain and Frances, Chris, Eve and Diarmuid are experienced in working clinically with people living with pain.

You can read their biographies here.

When are the sessions?

The sessions will be on Thursday lunchtimes from 11.30am to 1pm. There will be six sessions over a ten week period, starting on Thursday 18th February.

Please note this is a new start date – due to COVID 19 work pressures.

What else is happening?

Throughout the programme there will be pain café sessions where you’ll be able to discuss the ideas and share your progress with the course presenters who have themselves experienced persistent pain. You’ll be able to join these café sessions from the festival’s People Place.

Applications to join the current programme are now closed.
