31/05/2021
Enjoy the Book Plug presentation of Phil Sizer’s great book “Chronic Pain the drug free way” – this is a comprehensive book detailing methods of managing chronic pain with personal empowerment and self care garnered from years spent working in pain management programmes – its a lively and very very informative Book Plug!
Phil Sizer started his career in the gold bullion world. In time he discovered that people were more interesting than lots of big numbers and corporate life. He moved to Scotland with the intention of doing something creative and wholesome in a wood or up a mountain. Instead, he developed an interest in stress, health and wellbeing.
This ultimately led him to the world of pain management where he has worked for the last 20 years.
Phil has a passion for bringing the topics of pain management to life. He has a rare ability to work interactively with groups combining discussion with stories, metaphors and humour, so that hard-to-grasp ideas come alive.
He combines his own approach with ideas from important therapeutic approaches including CBT (Cognitive-behavioural Therapy), Mindfulness, ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), Solution-focused therapy, Positive Psychology, Coaching and Relaxation.
Unusually he also brings a background in Philosophy to the mix. This all creates a refreshing, credible approach to the work that has helped many people in thousands of sessions.
